As an annual pitch conference and competition, the ShanghaiTech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit (techIES) unites innovative minds from ShanghaiTech and beyond. It is a gathering to connect visionary entrepreneurs with angel investors, mentors, industry leaders, government representatives, and scientists. The primary goal of this event is to spotlight rapidly advancing entrepreneurial projects within the community, while also providing valuable insights on innovation and entrepreneurship to the audience.

Last year, the first international session on biomed of techIES attracted 13 projects from six countries. Three projects from the United States, Singapore and the Netherlands won the first, second and third prizes, respectively.

On December 1 (Friday), 2023, techIES will open its 2nd international session for participants from invited partner institutions and their affiliates, providing a platform for entrepreneurial talents to present their innovative ideas and technologies. The 2023 international session focuses on biomedicine, biomedical engineering and intelligent healthcare.

A group of experienced judges will vote for the most outstanding projects. The three winning teams will win 50,000CNY, 30,000CNY and 10,000CNY respectively.

Application:

• We are looking for innovative projects with original ideas, advanced technology, and the potential to make impact in biomed. Cross-disciplinary projects are encouraged.

• The application is open to:

1) faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other members of the invited overseas institutions and their affiliates;

2) foreign nationals (whose primary language is English) from the invited Chinese universities, research institutes, hospitals, and their affiliates.

• The project presentation will be in video form. Applicants will be asked to submit a short video no longer than 10 minutes (other details will be informed in a separate email after the application is closed).
