From July 23 to 24, a delegation of doctors and leaders from ShanghaiTech University and Shanghai Clinical Research and Trial Center visited Quankou Village in Enshi, Hubei Province, to provide free health services. The trip marks the ninth consecutive year of the university's partnership with the village, which began in 2018.

At the opening ceremony, local health officials joined the Shanghai delegation to reflect on the long-standing collaboration. Over the years, the university has sent multiple teams of medical experts and students to the village, offering both care and material support.

The free clinic focused on common health issues among mountain residents. The Shanghai Clinical Research and Trial Center doctor team provided consultations on chronic disease management and everyday health concerns, offering personalized advice. First-year students volunteered throughout the event, helping with health screenings, distributing informational materials, and measuring vital signs. They also deployed a self-developed digital health management system to create electronic health records for villagers, enabling long-term follow-up.

The team also visited Badong County People's Hospital to discuss future collaboration, including training opportunities for local doctors and ways to improve rural healthcare delivery.

The visit underscores the university's and the Center’s commitment to bridging urban medical resources with rural needs, supporting health development in western Hubei through targeted, ongoing efforts.
